Nätverket Kultur för Fred
NKFFU är med inom HAP's
Global Campaign of Peace Education (GCPE)

                         - Nätverket bildades egentligen 1998, som en protest mot den försäljning av
                         stridsflygplanet JAS till bland annat Chile och Sydafrika som regeringen
                         planerade.

                         Den fredskonferens, som var Nätverket Kultur för Freds första
                         arrangemang, blev mycket lyckad. Många organisationer var redan då
                         inblandade i nätverket, och informationen nådde på det sättet ut till många.
                         Idag ingår ett tjugotal organisationer i nätverkets Uppsaladel.

                         Sedan dess har NKFU:s aktiviter mest bestått av temakvällar med
                         föreläsningar och debatter med bl.a. Läkare Utan Gränser.

                      Tror på demokratin
                         - Vi tror på demokratin, säger Azril Bacal, men inte på en demokrati endast
                         för eliten. Vi tror på en demokrati på alla nivåer i samhället. Inte förrän vi
                         uppnår detta stora mål kan vi skapa fred.

                         Ett steg mot detta mål menar han är att ersätta den hittills vålds- och
                         krigsdominerade kulturen med en fredskultur. För att göra detta måste man
                         bland annat arrangera evenemang som tar avstånd från krigskulturen.

Dear friends

Welcome to 2002.  May you achieve your highest dreams.

Certainly the idea of a Field of Dreams is becoming - but remember
all they did was build an old ballpark.  We are living on a planet
where we must bring 6 billion humans into our models.

I agree we must vision our preferred future, and the GPA Report falls
short of even the Secretary Generals Millennium Report in its
clarity. (the SG's Report even included reference to the Tobin Tax)

I am specifically discouraged by the lack of mention of a global
tithing process, the UN Global Compact, the Peace Education
initiative of the Hague Appeal for Peace and the lack of mention of
the Indigenous Forum at the United Nations as instruments to
facilitate change at the UN.

As a closing comment.  The Peace Movement does not exist, and anyone  who
thinks it does, is not looking at the
world the way it is.

It is a new time, and in order to experience it we ought to listen to
some who talk about "awakening" - or "transformation" as experiences that
